Word crashing on Remote Desktop Server (for only one user, on one specific file)
Hi Everyone,
I have Word 365 (version 2036) installed onto a Remote Desktop Server (running Windows Server 2019).
On our file share I have a Read-Only file that is utilized by several staff members.
Staff members open the Read-Only file, then click on Save As to save a specific (renamed) copy of the file.
When one staff member clicks on 'Save As' they are able to enter a new file name for the document, but as soon as they click on 'Save' Word crashes.
I am hoping to stop the Word program from crashing when the staff member clicks on Save.
Ironically there are about a dozen staff members accessing the Remote Desktop Server and performing the task outlined above, but only one staff members Word program is crashing.
In the Event Log of the Remote Desktop Server I can see the following error message related to Word -
Any help here will be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Davo
See the KnowledgeBase article "How to troubleshoot problems that occur when you start or use Word" at:

If that does not help, then you might remove all traces of the Office installation by downloading the fixit from the following article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501
saving it to your computer and then running it.
Then, after re-starting your computer, reinstall Office by logging into www.office.com/myaccount with your registered email address and click Install Office.
BEFORE REMOVING THE OFFICE INSTALLATION, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO LOG INTO YOUR ACCOUNT AND THAT OFFICE IS ASSOCIATED WITH IT!
