Watermark centering reverts to margins on close

Has anyone experienced this? A full page image watermark alignment set "centered to page" looks right —

— until I pull the left margin in. Then it moves with the margins. I can move it back and save it, thinking it's fixed, but upon closing and reopening, it's reverted back to centered on margins instead, rendering the image off-center.

Any help much appreciated —
