The Go To page number function does not exist anymore - How to navigate the document to a page?
Hi Everyone
We have a group of executives who are members of a team (inside Teams) and they are collaborating on a Word document that is stored in the files area of their team. They need to navigate to a particular page but there are no commands anymore to enable them to do this.
Microsoft Word seems to have dispensed with the GO TO command, and also the ability to click page numbers to provide a field to enter page numbers to navigate to. Also - we used to be able to do a Ctrl + F as a shortcut to the go to menu but that does not exist anymore.
I have checked this in Word online (office.com) AND in Word inside Microsoft Teams AND in Word Desktop app.
So, navigating to a page number is impossible, apart from scrolling page by page with the page up and down function.
Am I missing something?

The online versions of Word are a lot less capable compared to the desktop versions. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/differences-between-using-a-document-in-the-browser-and-in-word-3e863ce3-e82c-4211-8f97-5b33c36c55f8.
In Word running locally on a Windows computer (= a desktop version of Word), you should definitely be able to press Ctrl+G to display the Go To tab of the Find & Replace dialog box:
In Word for Mac, the corresponding shortcut is COMMAND+Option+G (see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/keyboard-shortcuts-in-word-95ef89dd-7142-4b50-afb2-f762f663ceb2#PickTab=macOS).

Hello Sharyn_Mayne ,
while the Word desktop application still has these commands, the Word on-line is truly missing them. No amount of clicking on the status bar, using Ctrl+G (go to), Ctrl+H (Replace) or Ctrl+F seemed to have been able to get there.
One might suggest trying in another browser, but I think this is not a browser issue.
Can they co-author the document in the desktop app?
If not, I am sure Microsoft will be eager to learn about this feedback, as developing Word on-line seems to be their priority right now.
I just don't understand how MS cannot include one of the basic function which has been in Word since the beginning into their new application... And to get rid of it (the navigation icons on the ruler) in their new versions as an obsolete function 😞
