Problem Printing Word documents - other documents printing with out any issue

Hi every one

I have a problem with printing only word documents as it is - if I print the documents as pdf or other format I can print it - although if i enter to word (online) via same Microsoft account  i can print any document as it is (word, wordx etc).

I did the follow steps

Summary of Actions Taken to Resolve Word Document Printing Issue on Canon C3826 Printer

  1. Printer and Office Repair Actions:
  • Reinstallation of Printer: The printer was uninstalled and reinstalled on the system in an effort to fix potential configuration issues.
  • Office 365 Repair: Microsoft Office 365 was repaired to ensure there were no issues with the Word application itself that could be preventing the printing of Word documents.
  • Restoration of Default Settings: The printer and Office settings were restored to their default configurations to eliminate any customizations or potential errors in settings.
  1. Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
  • Test Printing Other File Types: It was verified that other file types, such as Excel files and test print pages, could print without issues, suggesting that the problem was specific to Word documents. a test print at word is working to.
  • Reviewing Printer Settings: Printer settings within Windows were checked, including ensuring the correct default printer was selected.
  • Printer Queue Cleanup: The print queue was checked for any stuck print jobs, and any remaining print jobs were deleted to ensure there was no blockage in the queue.
  1. Word-Specific Troubleshooting:
  • Add-ins Disabled: All add-ins in Microsoft Word were disabled to see if any specific add-ins were interfering with the printing process.
  • Printer Properties Review: Various printer properties were checked under the printer settings (such as quality settings and print spooler configurations).
  • Word Settings Reset: Advanced printing settings in Microsoft Word were reviewed and reset to ensure no misconfigurations were affecting printing.
  1. Printer Driver and Firmware Updates:
  • Driver Update: The printer drivers were updated by downloading the latest drivers from the Canon website to ensure compatibility with the operating system and resolve any known issues with the printer.

I will be happy if someone could know how to fix it

  • How about trying below as well:

    1. Try Printing in Safe Mode

    • Press Windows + R, type:
    • winword /safe
    • Open a document and try printing.

If it works in Safe Mode, the issue likely lies with Word's configuration or a hidden add-in.

    1. Switch Print Processor

Windows uses a print processor to handle print jobs. Try switching it:

    • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers
    • Right-click your Canon printer → Printer Properties
    • Go to Advanced > Print Processor
    • Change from Canon Print Processor to WinPrint, and set the data type to RAW

This bypasses Canon’s custom processor, which might be interfering with Word.

    1. Check for Corrupted Normal.dotm Template

Word’s default template can cause strange behavior if corrupted:

    • Close Word
    • Navigate to:
    %appdata%\Microsoft\Templates

    • Rename Normal.dotm to Normal.old.dotm
    • Reopen Word and try printing

Word will regenerate a fresh template.

    1. Disable Background Printing

    • Open Word → File > Options > Advanced
    • Scroll to Print
    • Uncheck "Print in background"
    • Try printing again

    1. Try a Different User Profile

Create a new Windows user account and test printing from Word there. If it works, the issue may be tied to your user profile’s registry or app data.
