Permissions issue accessing Outlook Word Attachments
When accessing an Outlook email from our online Document Management System (DMS) and attempting to open a WORD attachment a user is getting a dialogue box which reads:
"Word experienced an error trying to open the file.
Try these suggestions.
- check the file permissions for the document or drive
- Make sure there is sufficient free memory and disk space.
- Open the file with the Text Recovery converter.
This issue only occurs for one single user and is not document specific.

Any troubleshooting suggestions would be greatly appreciated

- Before opening the document, right click on the file, either in the File Explorer, or in the Open dialog and then click on Properties and check the "Unblock" box. Then try opening the document.

Thank you for your advice. Could you further explain which option settings was activated which may have caused the issue in the first place?
JackOfManyTrades The default setting under File>Options>Trust Center>Trust Center Settings>Protected View is for Outlook attachments to be opened in Protected View
