Past Text Box To Drawing Canvas Formatting is Lost

Hello Word Tech Community,

When I paste a textbox into a drawing canvas it loses its formatting and reverts to textbox's default format.  This happens even if the text box was copied from a textbox already in the drawing canvas.  I was on a chat with Microsoft team and they had the same issue.  Is there a setting that can be changed or is this a bug.  If I wanted default textbox, I would start a new textbox.  I copy and past strictly because I want to maintain formatting.
