How do I turn off copilot if it's not in the options?
This provided screenshot is what I get with Word Options. There are no copilot settings in Word Options in my copy of Office, I cannot find any way of turning it off, and yet copilot has gotten so m...
Take this:
- Change Privacy Settings
This disables Copilot and other AI features:
- Go to File > Account > Account Privacy > Manage Settings.
- Uncheck “Turn on experiences that analyze your content.”
- Restart Word.
This will also disable other features like text predictions and PowerPoint Designer.
- Rollback to an Earlier Version
Some users have successfully reverted to a version before Copilot was introduced:
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
Run:
cd %programfiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun
OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.18025.20160
- After rollback, go to File > Account > Update Options > Disable Updates to prevent auto-updating.
