    1. Quickly turn off the automatic border function
Method 1: through the options settings
Open Word → “File” → “Options”.
Select “Advanced” → Find “Cut, Copy and Paste” section
    2. Uncheck the box:
“Show insertion options when dragging text”
“Show Paste Options button when pasting content”.
    Click “OK” to save
    3. Temporary solution
     Ignore borders when dragging:
Press ESC immediately after dragging text to cancel auto-formatting
or right-click dragging (instead of left-clicking) to avoid triggering the auto-border.
    4. Disable auto-formatting completely (recommended)
Go to “File” → “Options” → “Proofreading”.
    Click “Autocorrect Options”
In the “Apply formatting automatically when typing” tab:
    Uncheck the “Borders” option
In the “Apply formatting automatically” tab:
    Uncheck “Apply borders”.
    5. Reset the default settings
     If the problem persists:
    Close all Word documents
    Press Win+R to enter:
    winword /safe
Test dragging text in safe mode
    Restart Word normally
The problem is usually caused by Word's “Smart Paste” feature, so turn it off.
