Formatting a book

This stuff is complicated! I have a book where odd-number (right side) pages have a top-right Header (book title) and even-number pages have a top-left Sub-Header. You know, it would be nice to change the top-left Sub-Headers for each new chapter! But after spending several hours (actually, two entire evenings) figuring out how to start a new Section (Section Break), I noticed that with the new Chapter section, the page numbering starts over! In other words, it's going along 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 -- as one would expect. Then the new Section Break and new Chapter Header, and the page numbering starts over. That's right -- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc. Anyone have an idea how to stop this nonsense?

    In the second and subsequent sections, use the Page Number Format dialog box to specify that page numbering should be continuous. To access the dialog box in Word for Windows, click Insert tab > Header & Footer group > Page Number > Format Page Numbers. Select "Continue from previous section" and click OK. Repeat this with the insertion point in the next section.
