Fonts in Word
I managed to do it!
1. You highlight something with the font and format you want to change to text effects and typography, outline text.
2.Go to editing and choose SELECT and immediately SELECT TEXT WITH SIMILLAR FORMATTING and click.
It will take few seconds and all the words with that formatting in your document will be highlighted.
3. Go to the icon of TEXT EFFECTS AND TYPOGRPHY click choose OUTLINE and the color... if you want to do other things you can do them now without loosing your highlighted words.
And all will be changed in a click!!!!

Hi Gloria,
I'm glad you found a solution. You could also use Find and Replace to do this.In the future, when seeking help, it is best to post a new question rather than add your question to one that has already been answered. See:
That is because you can frame what comes to the attention of the volunteers who answer questions (the title), and give information specific to your system that may be needed to answer, and because questions already answered get less attention from people answering, who have limited time.

No...no... you can not use 'find and replace' for 'text effects and typography, outline text'. In 'find and replace', in the format and special buttons there is no option that has that. That was my problem until I found the select option in editing!!! But many thanks for the links I will study how to ask a question in the forum! Many thanks!- Charles_KenyonNov 20, 2023Bronze Contributor
Hi Gloria,
You are correct about Find and Replace for raw formatting.
You could, though, have a character style for outline and could use the Replace feature to do that for each character using that font. Even simpler would be to use a custom character style to begin with and then modify that style to have the outline formatting. In general, direct formattings should likkely be avoided.
That style might be named "Key Term". It could also be a modification of the built-in style Emphasis.
