Building Block Gallery Content Control on Mac
I'm creating a Word form for users on both Mac/PC
On the PC side, I've used the Building Block Gallery Content Control in Developer Tools to make drop downs that contain images (jpegs) with Quick Parts. *I've also included Rich Content text fields, then Grouped other text so users can't edit that. All good.
When I open the finished file in Word for Mac the drop down image feature doesn't work. Support said this feature isn't available on Mac. I thought Mac users would at least be able to use it even if it was built in PC.
Are there any work arounds?

Lucy1975 I do not know anything much about a Mac. I believe however that while Content Controls cannot be inserted on a Mac, if a document containing Contents Controls is opened on a Mac, some, but maybe not all Content Controls can be used.
It sounds like you have done what would need to be done for the Quick Parts dropdown to be available on another Windows computer, so if it does not work on a Mac, it is probably the case that the Quick Parts dropdown Content Control does not work on a Mac.
You might ask about it in the Answers Forum at:

where you can specifically indicate that the question concerns a Mac and where there are quite a number of Mac users who respond to questions about the use of Word on a Mac.
- As a minimum, the quick parts would have to be available on a Mac and the form would have to be saved as a template and the quick parts would need to be saved into the template. That is the way that it would have to be done for it to work in Windows and Mac would require at least that.

Thank you Doug,
Are you saying is this indeed achievable on Mac? If isn't I won't keep at it, and let the client know.
I made sure to add the Quick Parts into my template on the PC (in the "Save in" area inside the "Create New Building Block" window, then tried on the Mac and no success, it just shows "Quick Parts" above the Building Block Gallery form field when selected. You mentioned the parts needed to be available on the Mac -- where do they need to be?
Thanks!
