Building Block Gallery Content Control on Mac
- May 06, 2022
Lucy1975 I do not know anything much about a Mac. I believe however that while Content Controls cannot be inserted on a Mac, if a document containing Contents Controls is opened on a Mac, some, but maybe not all Content Controls can be used.
It sounds like you have done what would need to be done for the Quick Parts dropdown to be available on another Windows computer, so if it does not work on a Mac, it is probably the case that the Quick Parts dropdown Content Control does not work on a Mac.
You might ask about it in the Answers Forum at:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_word?
where you can specifically indicate that the question concerns a Mac and where there are quite a number of Mac users who respond to questions about the use of Word on a Mac.
Thank you Doug,
Are you saying is this indeed achievable on Mac? If isn't I won't keep at it, and let the client know.
I made sure to add the Quick Parts into my template on the PC (in the "Save in" area inside the "Create New Building Block" window, then tried on the Mac and no success, it just shows "Quick Parts" above the Building Block Gallery form field when selected. You mentioned the parts needed to be available on the Mac -- where do they need to be?
Thanks!

- Lucy1975May 07, 2022Copper ContributorThanks kindly Doug. Yes, some Content Controls make it across to the Mac, but think I'm pushing my luck here for any kind of drop down with images. I'll give the forum a go. Take Care.
