Add-in Error: We could't connect to the '{0}' catalog server for this add in

For the past month every time I try to use an Add-In in word I get the following error "we couldn't connect to the '{0}' catalog server for this add in." I have tried from multiple computers, Safari, Chrome, different accounts, etc. and nothing is working. It is a personal account and I use word online. It happens for multiple add-ins and I have reached out to the companies directly and they said it was a Microsoft issue.

I am now having this issue as well. One of my apps started acting up, and I could not delete it or add any new add-ins since. I have signed in and out several times. Uninstalled and reinstalled my Microsoft 365 several times. Checked my settings. Tried to get add-ins through Edge and Chrome. I have spent hours on this to no avail, and this has been totally unacceptable. I am not able to utilize my paid add-ins. FIX THIS!!!

    • No problem with Add-ins here so I would doubt very much that it is a problem caused by Microsoft.

Rather, the vendor of the Add-ins should provide support for their customers, which is what I do with the Add-ins that I supply.

Have you reviewed my reply and that of Doug Robbins?

        Which Add-Ins?

    Hi,

I have more than thirty Add-Ins loaded.

This does not happen with any of the Add-Ins I've created. Here they are: Add-Ins

It does not happen with any of the Add-Ins I have that were written by Word MVPs.

It does not happen with any of the Add-Ins I've received through the Microsoft Store.

The problem is a product of how the Add-In is interacting with Word. It is an issue of the authors of the Add-In not being able to make it work with Word.

It may be something that Microsoft changed. They usually notify developers of changes, I believe. However, it is an issue for the author of the Add-In to fix.

Would you care to specify the Add-Ins by name?

Were they obtained through the Microsoft Store?

I am a fellow user with more than thirty years experience using Word. I do not work for Microsoft. I do not speak for Microsoft.
