[SOLVED ]-Start Menu Won't Launch After Installing Windows 11 Cumulative Update (kb500563

EDIT: SOLVED.  See my reply below.

I followed the directions from the Windows Insider Blog to uninstall and reinstall it, but the problem remained.

I have since uninstalled KB5005635 again, and now the Start Menu works as it should.

But I'm otherwise without this cumulative update.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

  • I fixed it.     First, I reinstalled the update, so I'd be current on everything.

Then I did the following, which was a fix I l earned on reddit:

    1. Open Control Panel via search.
    2. Navigate to Clock and Region->Date and Time->Change Time Settings
    3. Change the date and time to a future date (I picked a week later.)
    4. Go to the Internet Time tab and disable time sync
    5. Re-enable time sync.

    Start menu now works.

    This worked for me, YMMV.

    Hi,
I have the same issue, and I tried same things.
I have upgraded from windows 10

I don't know if is related, but after a power-off power-on (not reboot) I started power toys in admin mode, and start menu worked.

I have tryed before to perform a clean boot, but without success.

I'm on Build 22471.rs_prerealese.210929-1415 and unfortunately it didn't work for me.
