Any fast and stable way to transfer pictures from iphone to computer?

I have over 100GB of pictures on my iPhone, and I need a reliable way to transfer them to my Windows PC without crashing halfway or missing files. I don't want cloud uploads (too slow for this much data), and I've had bad luck with random free tools freezing or disconnecting. What's the most stable method that actually works for transfer pictures from iphone to computer? USB cable? Some specific software? I'm on Windows 11, but open to any suggestion that won't fail after two hours of transferring.

Please give me a straight answer with clear steps—no vague advice like "try iCloud" or "use a third-party tool" without naming names. I need something that handles 100GB in one go, keeps the original quality, and doesn't require me to babysit it. Bonus if it's free, but I'll pay for something that just works. Thanks!

Windows comes with a built-in app called “Photos” that allows you to transfer photos, videos, and other files from your iPhone to your computer via USB.

Steps: Connect your iPhone using a USB cable, open the app, click “Import,” select your device, check the photos you want, and finally click “Import Selected” to save the photos to your computer.

Its advantages include: automatically organizing imported photos by date for easy management, supporting image previews, and facilitating the import of specific files.

Its disadvantages include: relatively slow transfer speeds when handling large volumes of files, a lack of file sorting functionality and the inability to customize the save path, as well as occasional delays in device recognition when connecting.

This allows you to quickly transfer photos from your iPhone to your computer via USB. It is suitable for routine, small-scale photo imports on Windows devices, as well as for quickly completing local backups.

LocalSend is an excellent way to transfer pictures from iPhone to computer wirelessly, especially if you want to avoid cloud services, cables, or paid software. Since it works across different operating systems, it is a perfect solution for moving photos from an iPhone to a Windows PC, something that Apple's own AirDrop cannot do.

This makes it the ideal tool to transfer pictures from iPhone to computer wirelessly without any quality loss. The key reasons to use it for your photos are:

    • It's Private and Secure: The transfer happens directly between your iPhone and computer on your home network. Your photos are not uploaded to any cloud server, and the app tracks no user data and shows no ads.
    • It Preserves Quality: Because it's a direct transfer, there is no compression. Your photos and videos are sent at their original, full resolution and quality .
    • It Works Offline: The two devices only need to be on the same Wi-Fi network. An active internet connection is not required at all.

Step-by-Step Guide to Transfer Your Photos to Computer Wirelessly

    1. Set Up the App on Both Devices

    2. Connect Both Devices to the Same Wi-Fi Network

    3. Send the Pictures from Your iPhone

Microsoft and Apple have replaced the old iTunes sync with the Apple Devices app. It is much more stable than the legacy "Import" tool in the Windows Photos app, and it provides a reliable foundation how to transfer pictures from iphone to computer.

It allows you to manage the iPhone-to-PC connection more efficiently, reducing common disconnect errors that can occur during transfers.

First, download the Apple Devices app from the Microsoft Store. Then connect your iPhone to your PC with a USB cable and open the app.

While this app is mainly for backups, it stabilizes the driver connection better than Windows alone. With this app open in the background, you can then use the Windows 11 Photos App to "Import from a connected device." Since the Apple Devices app is managing the "handshake," it is far less likely to disconnect.

Once the connection is stable, you can proceed with your preferred transfer method, knowing the driver layer is being handled by Apple’s official software.

This method is the official modern solution how to transfer pictures from iphone to computer, combining the simplicity of the Photos app with the stability of Apple’s dedicated connection tool.

If you want a hassle-free transfer experience, you can try this method. This is the recommended way by both Microsoft and Apple, so you can trust its reliability.
