Windows11 Microsoft Store download progress bar stays at 0% when updating Store apps
When updating apps from the Microsoft Store, the download progress bar often remains at 0% for an extended period and then suddenly completes. This issue occurs even with a fast internet connection and has been observed on multiple devices.
Pausing and resuming the download can temporarily resolve the progress bar display issue, but the problem reoccurs when updating or downloading a new app during the same session.

Because Store eventually finishes after pausing and resuming, this may be a progress-display or cache problem rather than a slow connection. Open Microsoft Store > Library and select Get updates, then install Windows updates and restart. Confirm the download is moving by checking Network and Disk activity for Microsoft Store in Task Manager; do not cancel it because the bar shows zero. If there is no activity for several minutes, press Windows+R, run wsreset.exe, and wait for Store to reopen. Next open Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Microsoft Store > Advanced options, choose Repair, and test. Use Reset only if Repair fails, because it clears Store’s local data. Verify Windows date, time, region, and the signed-in Store account. Test without a VPN or metered connection. If multiple devices show identical behavior, check Microsoft service health and report the Store and Windows builds through Feedback Hub
