Windows Update pushing wrong drivers
These incorrect drivers lead to device malfunctions, system instability, or degraded performance, and I am unsure how to prevent Windows from pushing these problematic updates or how to roll back to a stable driver version.

Windows Update can select a matching driver that performs poorly on a particular PC. Open Device Manager, expand the affected category, open Properties, choose Driver, and record its provider, date, and version. Select Roll Back Driver, confirm, and restart. If unavailable, Windows has no previous package to restore; install a compatible driver from the PC or device manufacturer.
After stability returns, avoid the bad package under Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates; optional drivers are not installed automatically. On a managed PC, an administrator can enable “Do not include drivers with Windows Updates” in Group Policy or manage approvals through Intune. The documented policy blocks driver updates broadly, not only one package, so use it only if that tradeoff is acceptable. To block one specific package, report it through Feedback Hub and contact the hardware vendor or Microsoft Support with the hardware ID and driver version.
