Windows system

I just rebuilt my PC and I’m having trouble getting any windows related programs to work. Media player won’t open. The start menu won’t open after a bit (I have to reset explorer in task manager when that happens) but when it will, I can’t click and open anything in the menu. I pressed windows + I to reach my settings and got “this file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action…” error

    Make sure your Windows installation is up to date. Sometimes core components might not work if essential updates are not installed.

    1. Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
    2. Type ms-settings:windowsupdate and press Enter.
    3. Check for updates and install any pending ones.
