Windows Sandbox fails to provision BaseImage on Windows 11 ARM (BaseImages folder stays empty)

Windows 11 Pro 25H2

Build 26200.7922

Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.300.0

Asus Vivobook S15 ARM64 (Snapdragon X Elite)

Windows Sandbox

Recently bought Windows 11 Pro (via MS Store) as we're required to Windows Sandbox for my uni. However currently running issues with Sandbox and stuck and stuck with my uni pc. Please help fix, I'm stuck with my uni pc at the moment😭 and considering a refund since Windows Pro wasn't that cheap as well.

Issues:

  1. C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Containters\BaseImages is always empty. File exists but no contents inside (no .vhdx files are created).
  2. Enabling/disabling/restarting (multiple times) Windows Sandbox does not regenerate the Base Image.
  3. Sandbox fails to launch (brief loading on cursor then nothing happens).

Troubleshooting

  1. Toggling Sandbox off/on with reboots, also made sure Windows Hypervisor is on.
  2. Up to date with Windows Updates.
  3. Virtualization is enabled (used to previously run Oracle VB without any issues on my Laptop)
  4. Checked Base Images folder before/after reinstall (always empty)

Please Help

Cheers

Windows Sandbox currently does not work on Windows 11 ARM64 (including Snapdragon X Elite devices). The BaseImage folder staying empty is a known limitation: Microsoft has not yet released ARM-compatible Sandbox base images, so the feature cannot provision or launch on ARM hardware.

Check your bios settings to see if they are set for permission. Bios need set to permit virtualization. Also you need to check settings they need set also.
