Windows do not resize when dragged to the sides or top of my screen (Windows 11)
- Nov 24, 2024
Solution:
I had to download the a certain program to fix this issue that you are not allowed to mention here. The program has a settings tab for snapping and it was correctly detecting that it was disabled, unlike the official settings app. All I had to do was uncheck this and the problem was solved.
Hello,
I may have some suggestions to solve this problem.
Reset Multi-tasking Settings: Go to Settings > System > Multi-tasking, toggle off "Snap windows," restart the computer, and then toggle it back on.
Check for System Updates: Ensure that Windows is fully updated. Sometimes, specific bugs get patched in newer updates.
Run SFC and Deployment Image Servicing and Management Scans:
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
- Run sfc /scannow to check for corrupted files and repair them.
- Run Deployment Image Servicing and Management /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth to fix Windows image issues.
Check for Third-Party Software Conflicts: Some third-party utilities can interfere with snapping (e.g., custom window managers). Try disabling or uninstalling such tools temporarily
Create a New Profile Temporarily: If the issue persists, consider transferring settings and data to a new account if that's feasible. Alternatively, a full user profile reset (though a bit complex) might also help.
Best Regards
