Windows 11 updated again on my work laptop...

Seems like exporting to PDF is being primed to be a paid feature in Microsoft Office Word...

EDIT: It seems from the comments that the actual is the Adobe product instead!

Screen photo obviously because data exchange is limited on the laptop.

So, it seems that on Windows 11 Office Word has a new button - "Save as Adobe PDF", that gives you this bull. Adobe was updates as well to have some paid features.

Besides the culprit there is still a normal button to export to PDF normally, at least they didn't remove it yet.

Not going to lie, seeing this raised my cortisol levels a little...

That "Save as Adobe PDF" button isn't from Microsoft. It gets installed when you have Adobe Acrobat (Standard or Pro) or Adobe PDFMaker on your system. The button triggers Adobe's own PDF creation engine, which has always had a mix of free and paid features depending on your subscription.

You're seeing an Adobe‑branded "Save as Adobe PDF" button, likely added by:

    • Adobe Acrobat Pro / Standard (installed as an Office add‑in)
    • Or the Adobe PDFMaker Office plugin

That dialog is Adobe's own paid‑feature prompt, not Microsoft's.
