Windows 11 Suddenly Started to Resize and Move my Open Windows Position

How to fix that? Even IDM that I always put in the right corner would be moved on the left side of the screen, never had that problem? It seems to appeared after upgrading to 24H2. It usually happens after monitor turns screen off after some time, but I think that I saw that happening even randomly.

It could be related to Windows' new display handling in 24H2. You might want to check if "Remember window locations based on monitor connection Carxstreetapk" is enabled under Settings > System > Display > Multiple displays. Also, updating graphics drivers might help if it’s a display refresh issue.

Windows, ideally, should remember the size and position of your open windows. However, sometimes, glitches or conflicts can cause them to randomly resize and move, often after the screen turns off or even seemingly at random. The fact that it's affecting software like IDM (Internet Download Manager) that you've explicitly positioned suggests this is a system-level problem, not just an app-specific one.

To fix the issue of windows resizing and moving, start by turning off Snap in Settings > System > Multitasking.

Next, check your Display Settings by right-clicking on the desktop to ensure everything is set correctly.

You should also update your graphics drivers through Device Manager > Display adapters.

Adjust your power settings by going to Settings > System > Power & Battery to ensure the monitor and sleep settings are correct.

Turning off Snap makes it impossible to make a window full screen size (not fullscreen like F11) unless you press Win + Up and makes it impossible to drag around if it is so without using Win + Down first...

No. That's not a fix, that's not even a bandaid, that's gluing salted sandpaper to an open wound and roughly rubbing it around every time you move.

If you're using multiple monitors, Windows might be adjusting window positions when a display is disconnected or reconfigured.

Go to Settings > System > Display. Ensure all monitors are detected and arranged correctly. If you recently disconnected a monitor, make sure Windows is not still trying to adjust for it.
