Windows 11 slow to initially open shared folder

I have a new PC running Windows 11 I use to store files on my local (wired) LAN. Every time I hate the shared the drive, I have to wait for it to initialize and open. Once open, it's fine for 5-10 minutes. 

I have adjusted ALL the power and sleep settings on both machines, the "server" is set to never sleep and never power down. But the problem persists. I never had this problem with Windows 10.
