Windows 11 sleep issues

Whenever I use sleep on my PC (using the Power menu) the screens go off as expected then one comes back on a few seconds later and stays on, and I can't find a way of getting it to stay off. I've tried searching for solutions but they all seem to involve settings no longer in Windows 11 or that they have have been moved and I can't find them.

I've tried disabling Wake On LAN.

I've also set up Windows Hello to see if that helped, but as soon as I put the PC to sleep (from the power menu) the web cam starts flashing and looking for me, I also set it to go to sleep after 5 mins of inactivity but it doesn't.

It's a new PC - Asus ROG NUC (2025) running Windows 11 Home which is fully updated.

I have a wireless keyboard and wired mouse connected to a KVM switch (so if i want to use a laptop which is normally off I can with the same keyboard/mouse), and 2 monitors connected to two HDMI on the PC.

 

Any ideas?

    Having this same issue with the same windows update. Computer screen goes off when prompted to sleep but wakes to lock screen instantly and the computer doesn't sleep.

    Your PC is entering sleep, but something wakes it almost immediately; the webcam activity and KVM-connected input devices make a wake source more likely than a monitor-only problem. After reproducing it once, open Terminal as administrator and run powercfg /lastwake, powercfg /waketimers, and powercfg /devicequery wake_armed. Those commands identify the last wake source, active timers, and devices allowed to wake Windows. Temporarily disconnect the KVM, keyboard, mouse, and dock, then test sleep again. If that works, reconnect one device at a time and disable “Allow this device to wake the computer” only for the confirmed device in Device Manager. Also install ASUS BIOS, chipset, graphics, and camera updates, because Modern Standby behavior depends on firmware and drivers. If no source appears, generate powercfg /systemsleepdiagnostics and review the report. Windows Hello is not a sleep fix; its camera flashing is evidence that the system has already resumed.

      Thanks for the reply.

      I've disconnected the KVM and plugged the mouse and keyboard direct into the PC.

      I downloaded and installed all the ASUS drivers and the firmware is the latest.

      I disabled Wake on LAN in the BIOS, and on both network cards and the USB4 root device as they were mentioned in powercfg \devicequery wake_armed.

      But still no joy, the lock screen comes on again a few seconds after I use the sleep option.
