Windows 11 Printer Issue - DYMO LW450 DUO is not installing correctly/entirely
Hi IngoM56 , thank you for sharing this workaround. I hope this will be of use to other users.
As of right now the DYMO developers aren't aware of improvements we can make to resolve these Windows 11 printer driver issues. At it's core, it's caused by the way Windows 11 handles these printer drivers.
If anyone at Microsoft sees this and has feedback for the DYMO team or an update on the status of the work on this issue, please reach out to me via this platform. I'll be sure to revisit the thread. Thank you.
Hi David.
Thanks for continuing to chase Microsoft. Dymo will have far more chance of getting Microsoft to listen.
For completeness and in the hope that someone from Microsoft reads this thread, I did install your software again today on a fully patched Windows 10 Pro system as a final test for myself. Dymo’s software and my 450 Duo worked perfectly. The same 450 Duo with exactly the same Dymo software on a fully patched, newly installed, Windows 11 Pro device still only prints labels. The tape side of the Duo is not recognised.
Again I reiterate the exact same Duo 450 unit works absolutely perfectly on my iMac too.
Once again I believe that this proved that the Windows 11 software is causing the issue.
I hope this is useful testing and information should you need it.

Same thing here, also with Dymo Printserver same issue.
Can print with old Win 10 Machine without any problem. What I have seen is, that in device manager tree view it shows up as USB composite device that splits into two USB prnter support entities. On Windows 10 label and tape printer bind to either of these entities, on Windows 11 only label binds to first entity. When manually installed Tape printer, this binds to same USB printer support entity, when trying to print on tape, Windows always gives the message that casette is not loaded.
What also works is using a Linux machine with CUPS. I run it on an old pogoplug, should do also on Raspberry Pi PC based server. Just installed both printers into CUPS and add as network printer on Windows with intalling appropriate driver
