Windows 11 Phone Link Notifications - Click Goes to Search on Browser - Worthless
- Sep 07, 2026
Open the Phone Link app on your PC, go to Settings (the gear icon), and find the Notifications section.
Having a notification click open a browser search instead of taking you to the relevant app or message does make the Phone Link notification panel less useful. An option to disable notification clicks or control how different notification types are handled would be a much better experience.
Perhaps my final chat about this topic... Hopefully you see the solution, above. The worst case of taking me to a browser window, I received a Ring app notification. I accidentally clicked on it. I ended up searching for jewelry, specifically, a RING! Silly.
I also found Phone Link talks better to a Samsung phone, even my wife's old S10. My LG Velvet does not do well. A click on a notification for my wife opens the app on her phone which appears on Phone Link. Then you can deal with it as needed without picking up your cell. That's okay in my opinion.
