Windows 11 is the worst OS I've used after Windows Vista!
I am really not a fan at all!
Firstly the default position of the start button is so Inconvenient and if its center aligned it doesn't even remain in the same place. Windows 11 is basically more of a design update to Windows 10. No new or rather user friendly or productive features except for running android apps are present.
Start menu is terrible! It has lost its classic touch. Only pinned apps visible, you need to click a button separately to view all apps. Start menu can't be resized, full screen start absent, no live tiles (biggest let down). The WiFi, Sound and Bluetooth bar adds to the inconvenience. Why open all of them if you just want to change the settings of 1. One drive is also not stable.
Settings look is OK. Not very impressive. App logos OK. The earlier ones were much better. The Chat, Switch Desktop functions are pinned to the taskbar all the time and cannot remove them. Very annoying. Preview peek desktop on hovering cursor is also missing. I personally liked the feature.
Long saying short - I would prefer to use Windows 10 rather than Windows 11 or would even like Windows 7 better than Windows 11. Clearly Windows 11 is just a design update of Windows 10 other than the Android apps. Might as well add the feature to Windows 10!
Clearly an unplanned, inconvenient, hard user interfaced and unhelpful operating system. Currently what I feel is that looking at the scenario now I am thinking that Windows 11 will be a fail. No better than Vista. Doesn't provide with any useful features.
I would say that this nothing else but a Downgraded OS.
I would be highly obliged if Windows 11 would be reworked upon .
I am an enthusiast in the field of computers and I'm keen on trying out new features!
Hoping to see a much modified Windows 11 on 5th October.
Yours faithfully,
Arin Swadi
- I agree, cause Windows 11 is so laggy when I zoom! I'm just a student and Windows 11 ruined my school experince! with lag! NEVER EVER. Going to upgrade to Windows 11, I rather stay on Windows 10 forever. Even though it's already reaching end of support.

If I was not forced to use this garbage OS by my school, this laptop would be in the trash compactor within a day. I do not know who designed the horrible bluetooth menu, but it is pretty sad when my smartphone is better designed than a system that has been around twice as long. The founder of the company is a complete child rapist scumbag who visited Pedophile Island regularly, so it comes as no surprise that is "genius" has continually failed his product. Don't worry though, because the company will just steal the ideas you save in any of their products to stay alive. Just like Edison, not a genius, just a thief.

The smode and windows account requirement makes this thing really difficult to deal with, the gui is terrible also I can’t stand this os so far, I have never used it I simply fight it. I really loved windows vista, it was an absolute masterpiece compared to this
- Byron1cCopper ContributorAbsoultely 100% agree with this. Ive put MANY feedback reports in about WinBlows 11, but nothing much seems to change with each update. Im pissed that my new dell laptop came pre-installed with this rubbish (I blame M$). I cannot even get it to install the 2H22 update FFS. Again - reported to feedback hub, but nothing has been done to address it. Ive given up, and have downloaded the Win10 ISO and am getting rid of this Early Access crap off my system. It seems that since COVID, pretty much every company has decided quality assurance and core product support is not a priority anymore.
- neonatariCopper Contributorthe problem is that the last two iterations feel like an os on top of an os and the control panel mess is proof of that.

Deleted Dont knock vista. It only had driver issues due to lazy manufactures not wanting to switch to 64 bit (not a miocrosoft issue) but microsoft saved the day by making compatible drives for most hardware.
Anyways windows 11 is a learning curve, I would rather go back to windows 10.
Windows 8/8.1 sucked, I had to use a 3rd party app for the start bar. I might have to do the same just for windows 11, as the start bar on windows 11 sucks.
Why do they need to change things? This messes up productivity as well as introduces a steep learning curve that's not needed.
I personally feel violated, microsoft should of asked first before moving my start menu to the centre.
Also microsoft tried their best to force windows 11 updades on my pc, they are very sneaky.
I find on my surface is slow as hell, when i open a folder it has to scan which akes time and cpu usage spikes. didnt do this before. So basically my surface 8 is now messed up because of this. And Windows security is missing and cant be fixed so i cant turn off anti virus to see if thats the problem. So basically the installation got botched on that tablet.
For months I been putting my connections to metered to avoid the OS from downloading, but it somehow found a way, now most of my pcs run windows 11. Time for a re-install !

After Windows 11 came out and they enforced the TPM security, I had enough. I was already tired of the crashing and other problems that come with Windows so I bought a Macbook M1 and man best decision I have ever made. I only use my Windows machine to play games.
The software on Mac never crashes - literally NEVER CRASHES - and the OS is so stable I can't remember the last time the OS crashed. I can just work and work without any issues with the OS or software. Furthermore, the laptop is super fast and the battery lasts forever. On my Thinkpad with Windows 11, I would be lucky to get 4 hours of battery. On the Macbook, I easily get 12+ hours using it full force with brightness all the way up. I never carry the charger anymore.
Everything just works. I can send and receive files from my phone, the SMS text messaging is tightly integrated so I can send and receive texts, make calls, contacts etc. I can drag and drop files and everything just works perfectly. I can also use my IPAD as a second monitor for my Macbook so I carry my IPAD around and have a tablet and second monitor to go along with my laptop.
Apple is so far ahead of MS in terms of the OS, hardware and integration. The Apple hardware is so much better in terms of quality compared to buying a Thinkpad, HP or Dell. Now with the M1 chip, the price of the laptops is very reasonable.
I was a 25+ year Windows user and never thought I would ever use anything else but after using Mac OS for a year now with the M1 chip, there is no way I am ever going back to Windows.
It just amazes me that Microsoft with all the resources they have cannot build a comparable product. The Mac M1 is lightyears ahead of MS in terms of software, hardware and integration.

I think the important factors for me are
1) if you're going to enforce awful UI defaults at least make things configurable.
They aren't. The start menu can't be made to look classic. The awful right click context menu hiding everything useful away under another click. The rounded edges issue. The list goes on and on of "improvements" that just make using the OS harder.
2) design a control / settings panel that actually works and doesn't hide useful config options under 5 layers of obfuscation that lead back to the classic control panel anyway.
I could give the control panel to a software dev who could code me a working settings panel in two weeks, I could probably even do it myself. Why haven't Microsoft managed this in the four odd years it's been pushed through W10 into 11? It's an utter embarrassing shambles.
It feels more and more like "use our notion of how this OS on your PC looks and feels or go somewhere else". Pretty much Apples attitude toward anything which is both anti consumer and unhelpful.
Perhaps Microsoft could consider making an "administrator mode" or "classic" mode to just make the OS get the hell out of the way of anyone who knows what they are doing. - jdavis32Copper ContributorHow is this marked as "solved"...? The items defeatured in the Windows 11 "Upgrade" have not been reinstated.
- 631933Copper ContributorI updated on a Windows 10 computer which I tried to use for about a week & then rolled back to to 10. I totally agree with Arin Swadi. It seems to me that there's some people at MS just need something to do so they change most things & certainly not for the better.
- yoyouoCopper ContributorI remain unimpressed. I thought it was just me.
- Reza_AmeriSilver ContributorPlease share your ideas, feedbacks and bugs using the Feedback Hub app. Microsoft might not reply all feedbacks but they read them and take actions based on feedbacks and in case you have been part of Windows Insider Programs and share feedback you already experience Microsoft is listening to feedbacks.
- Srb1nCopper ContributorRegarding the Start menu, this can be changed in the Task Bar setting, under "Taskbar Behaviors".
- Danny_Durbin49Copper Contributor
Srb1n It is not the task bar I am referring to. It is to the desktop internet shortcuts.

Deleted Since upgrading to 11 all my desktop shortcuts take a minimum of 15 seconds to launch. One Drive is now so slow I am thinking of moving all my files there over to dropbox or to an external drive. This upgrade is the worse upgrade in windows I have ever had. I wish I could have went back to 10 cleanly but when I tried doing the go back everything in 10 was messed up the same. This does not happen if I run in the Admin account, but I refuse to run in the admin account for security reasons. What gives?
