Windows 11 desktop click network icon white window opens, does not populate, just an empty white box

I have three pc's in my room. All three suddenly started having the same problem on the same day earlier this week (noticed this behavior this past Monday - possibly the issue started a few days earlier, but only first noticed this Monday).

I would click on the Network Icon on the desktop and a white box opens up with nothing in it, it never populates. This is what I see (see below)  - I can wait and wait and wait, but nothing happens. If I hoover my mouse pointer over it, a continuously rotating circle appears as if it's trying to do something. Now, I have researched a bit on the web, the only thing I found as a very temporary fix is to:

Press the Start button, type cmd, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator.
Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
Restart your computer.

Indeed, when I reboot, I click on the network icon, a box pops open and I can now see all the other pc's on my home network. BUT, when I reboot or turn off and turn on the pc, I'll click the network icon on the desktop and all I get is that odd white box again.

Anyone have a clue as to what's happening and how to fix this issue?

I routinely apply all windows updates.

Thanks!

Nelson

I’ve seen this issue happen on Windows 11 after corrupted system UI components or recent updates. In many cases, restarting Windows Explorer from Task Manager fixes it temporarily. You can also try running “sfc /scannow” and “DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth” from Command Prompt to repair system files. If the problem started recently after an update or driver install, updating network drivers or removing the latest Windows update can sometimes resolve the blank network popup issue as well.

Seems microsoft released several updates/fixes yesterday and now when I click on the network icon on all three pc's the window opens, populates, I can see the other pc's and everything else attached to the network.
