Windows 11 27868 Download error - 0x80070002

Hello,

 

I've had trouble installing the last few insider builds I get this error Download error - 0x80070002.

 

Things tried:

 

  • DISM
  • SFC
  • Chkdsk
  • Windows Update troubleshooter
  • Reset Windows Update components with multiple scripts
  • Deleted C:\Window\SoftwareDistribution

 

Other Windows updates install no problem just the insider build have an issue.  Also if I mount a windows ISO and try to run setup.exe nothing happens I suspect the two issues are related somehow.

    Since you’ve used scripts, maybe try manually stopping Windows Update services, deleting cache, then restarting them.
