Window 11 WiFi hotspot prevents PC from Hibernating
With Windows 10, I used netsh to set up a WiFi hotspot on an HTPC. I wanted the PC to hibernate after 30-minutes of inactivity. I'm using MediaPortal to record OTA programs, and MediaPortal setup up the schedule on the PC.
I upgraded the PC to Windows 11. While MediaPortal still wakes the PC to perform OTA TV recording, I am no longer able to use netsh to create a WiFi hotspot as the drivers for the onboard WiFi transceiver do not support it.
Therefore, I setup a WiFi hotspot through the settings app, however, whenever that WiFi hotspot is enabled, the PC will not hibernate. I do have hibernation enabled.
I've tried using Device Manager to change the power settings on each of the actual hardware device and the virtual network adapter that is created by enabling the WiFi hotspot, however, those settings have no effect, that is, the PC still will not hibernate after 30-minutes and will not hibernate at all.
I understand that there is some sort of solution to this by running a batch file, however, I do not know what would be required in the batch file, nor do I know how that batch file would be triggered. I assume that the batch file would have to be triggered by an event, however, I am at a loss to find the event.
On the Windows 10 PC, I had to trigger a batch file to resume the hotspot on a couple of different events.
I would appreciate it if someone would help me out with the following:
- The necessary batch file
- Event or events on which to trigger the batch file (assuming that is the approach)
- If an event is not the right trigger for the batch file, how do I trigger the batch file?
Thanks in advance!

they are power settings for it to turn off the network adapter when going to sleep. Adjust that and turn it off
