Win11 F12 Save As dialog doesn't default to last accessed folder
When you press the F12 key in File Explorer or an application that supports this feature to open the Save As dialog box, the dialog box displays This PC by default, rather than the folder you last accessed in File Explorer. You have to manually navigate to the target folder each time, which reduces productivity.

Many programs, especially Microsoft Office apps, have their own internal settings for the default save location.

When you save a file there, Windows often remembers the last folder for that application during the same session.

You'll find a setting for "Default local file location" .

F12 (Save As) uses the app's own last-used folder, not File Explorer's it's separate by design, not a bug, though some apps let you set a default save location in their settings.
