Win10 multi-monitor setup can't be replicated on Win11?

Hey folks,

I'm turning to you, Windows gurus and buffs, to help a poor lost soul find the desired solution to their problem. I'll try to keep it simple, please bear with me.

So, I recently switched from Win10 to Win11. The setup that I had on Win10, when it comes to my multiple monitors, was the following: I hit Windows logo + P buttons and:

  • "Duplicate"
monitor 1 would extend onto monitor 2, monitor 2 will duplicate onto monitor 3

  • "Extend"
monitor 1 would extend onto monitor 2, monitor 3 will disconnect

  • "Second screen only"
monitors 1 and 2 would disconnect, 3 would become my primary and sole monitor in use

So, in Win11, the options to "Extend" and "Second screen only" work as a charm. Then I would go to "Duplicate", monitor 1 would duplicate onto 2, while 3 would disconnect; I would duplicate 2 on 3, and then extend 1 on 2 (achieving what I want from the "Duplicate" mode stated above), but instead of saving the setting to the "Duplicate" pre-set, it instead overwrites the "Extend" one...

ChatGPT suggested that the only option to achieve my desired setup was by using a 3rd party software, but I still think that we can find a couple of nifty people in here that would find the workaround by keeping it simple to use with the Win+P combo.

It's not the end of the world if I don't achieve what I wanted, but you'll definitely save me a lot of time and clicking and I shall remember you dearly within my heart.

While Windows doesn't natively save multi-monitor configurations as profiles accessible via Win + P, you can create custom scripts or shortcuts to switch display setups quickly.

Use third-party software, as Windows 11's built-in settings may not support the specific layout you need!
