Why oobe\bypassnro Not Working for Windows 11 25H2
- Oct 31, 2025
This bug was patched by Microsoft and oobe\bypassnro is no longer working. You can fix this by following this post.

It shows you how to install windows 11 using a local account.
Try This First-The "Sign-in options" Trick. This is the new primary method that often works when oobe\bypassnro not working. It exploits the fact that Microsoft still provides an offline path for "domain join" scenarios.
- Proceed with the OOBE (Out-of-Box Experience) until you get to the "Let's add your Microsoft account" screen.
- Crucially, do not enter any email or password.
- Look for a small link at the bottom of the window that says "Sign-in options". Click it.
- Now, look for a link that says "Domain join instead" and click it.
- This will immediately take you to the classic local account creation screen.
- Enter your desired local username and password (you can leave the password fields blank if you wish), and continue with the setup.
One thing I would add to Gianmais 's post: During the OOBE you will be asked to choose between 'Set up for private use' or 'Set up for work or school'. You must choose 'Set up for work or school' (even though you have no intention of setting it up for work or school), otherwise you will not be offered the 'Domain join instead' option when you click 'Sign-in options'.
