Why does Windows have so many processes running?
When I open Task Manager, I'm shocked to see so many processes running in the background, even though I haven't opened many programs myself. I don't understand why Windows needs all of these processe...

Unlike a simple app, Windows runs dozens of background services (print spooler, update service, audio service, network services, security, etc.). Each one handles a specific job so the system can respond instantly when needed.
