Why does the touchpad work in BIOS but not in Windows?
My touchpad functions perfectly in the BIOS environment, but it stops working immediately after Windows boots up, making me think it's not a hardware failure. I have tried checking device settings and updating drivers, yet the issue persists, so I am seeking advice on what might be causing this conflict between Windows and the touchpad.

When you're in the BIOS, Windows isn't running, so its drivers and settings aren't in effect. Once Windows starts, it loads its own drivers for the touchpad. If the driver is missing, outdated, corrupted, or being overridden by a newer generic version from Windows Update, the touchpad can stop working.
