Why do I have to have Bluetooth turned on for file sharing over network?
In setting up file sharing between two of my PCs, which was not without drama, believe me, the OS told me that I have to have Bluetooth enabled for this to work. I am sharing over the LAN, why do I need Bluetooth enabled?
I have Bluetooth and WIFI on my motherboard and both are turned off because I don't want the extra radiation. Since the PC sits on my desk, I especially don't want it in my eyes due to the risk of cataracts.
I just don't get why Bluetooth has to be enabled in this case. It's still turned off in BIOS, so what good does it do?

Windows 11 file sharing does not require Bluetooth, but Bluetooth is used for device discovery. Actual transfers occur over Wi-Fi/LAN. You can disable the Bluetooth option in Settings > System > Nearby Sharing.
