Why did File Explorer tabs stop working on Windows 11?
Why did the tabbed interface in File Explorer suddenly stop working on my Windows 11 PC, so that every folder I open launches in a separate window instead of a new tab? The tabs were working fine bef...
I did everything you said, but:
- I don't have any software that customizes Windows
- Ctrl + T didn't do anything, and I lost the tab bar
- I couldn't change the file association either; when I clicked 'Change', no window opened
On the bright side, Windows was a bit faster. However, none of the other solutions worked, so I had to do the same as other users: restore a full backup and suspend Windows Updates.
