What Does "Input Switch Notifications" Mean?

I accessed the settings and was greeted with a pop-up reminder prompting me to enable a feature, which appeared to be already active.

However, the notification seemed like a typical toast message to me. I am unclear about the term "Input" and what type of input it refers to. Similarly, I am puzzled by the term "Switch" and its significance.

I attempted to search for information on "input switch Windows 11," but the results mostly related to keyboard functions and did not address the specific query at hand.

These notifications are intended to help users keep track of their input method, especially if they frequently switch between them. They may appear even if the feature is active, as Windows occasionally prompts users to update settings or confirm configurations.

Notifications about input switches are helpful because they can let you know what's happening with your input devices. If you're someone who frequently changes keyboard layouts or switches between devices, these notifications can be a useful reminder of the current state of your input settings.

Mobile Devices: On smartphones or tablets, when you switch between different input methods (like from a keyboard to voice input, or from one language keyboard to another), notifications may pop up to let you know that the input method has changed.

Computers: On a computer, especially in operating systems that allow for different input methods (like switching languages or text input modes), notifications might appear when a user changes settings related to keyboard layout or input method editors (IME).
