Update disables programs

Am on insider program     Last update  9 October went fine but on rebooting neither Outlook or Firefox will work .   Everything else starts up fine. Have uninstalled the update and turned off auto update but it has appeared again this morning with the same result      Have installed it 3 times after each appearance with the same result    Am at a loss as to know what to do
