Unable to manually install KB5074109

I have an HP Laptop with version 25H2 OS build 26C200.6584 with x64 bit.  I had tried to manually install KB5074109 thru the Microsoft Catalog, but getting an error message code Ox80070241.  Is there a way to fix this, or should I skip it and see if I can manually install KB5077181.

Thanks,

By the way, what is it with these corrupted files that Microsoft is pushing out.  This has been the 3rd update that I have received from them indicating the files were corrupted.

Update....Thanks everyone for trying to help.  It turned out my problem was not an easy solution to fix.  Turned out there was more than a corrupted files involved.  My Windows Update components were part of the problem.  The IT people had to do a deep dive, diagnostic to see what was really going on.  On top of the corrupted files, there were some programs that needed to be removed.   In most cases your solutions you have given me might have worked if there was not a bigger issue going on with my laptop.

Thanks everyone.  This gives me a better idea of what is going on.  I seem to remember that my laptop crashed three time in the last three months.  I am taking it into to have someone to look into the corrupted files issue as the crashes that occurred might be part of the issue.

The error code 0x80070241 during manual update installation typically indicates a problem with corrupted files or issues with the Windows Update components. Given that you've encountered multiple instances of file corruption with updates, this suggests there might be underlying system issues affecting update integrity.

Microsoft updates occasionally encounter corruption due to:

    • Disk issues or hardware problems.
    • Interruption during download or installation.
    • Conflicts with existing files or software.
    • Malware interference.

Regarding the corrupted files issue, Microsoft has acknowledged that some update packages may be corrupted or incomplete. This can happen due to various reasons, such as network connectivity issues, server-side problems, or problems with the update package itself.

  • Please try to run DISM command once and then re-try installing the update:

    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
