Trying to find a Windows Spotlight lockscreen image — pure black with tiny stars
I'm trying to track down a Windows Spotlight lockscreen image that showed up on my Windows 11 laptop around August 5–10, 2026.
It was mostly pure black—like deep space—with lots of tiny, faint stars scattered evenly across the image. No planets, no Moon, no Milky Way band, no nebula, no landscape, no astronauts. Just a dark star field.
I checked my Windows Spotlight cache and history, but the image isn't stored locally anymore.
Does anyone recognize this one? Or know where I can find the original?

In File Explorer, type %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\Assets
and sort by size to find the images.
If you've already cleared your cache, and the image isn't stored in the Assets folder, recovering it may not be possible unless someone recognizes it and knows the original file name or source.
Microsoft occasionally publishes collections or blogs featuring Spotlight images.
