The Windows 11 Media Player looks like something from the last century
I've noticed that the Legacy interface of the old Media Player on Windows 11 still retains the style of the 2000s. Is this intentional on Microsoft's part?

Yes. The legacy in the name means it's no longer getting any development or attention at all and it's only included as an optional install for anyone who needs it (people with last-decade or last-century needs usually). WMP legacy is not installed by default.
