The touchpad functionality has completely disappeared in the Windows 11 system.
That sounds like the system has lost recognition of the touchpad hardware, not just the driver. A few things worth trying:
First, check BIOS/UEFI settings to ensure the touchpad isn’t disabled at the hardware level.
In Device Manager, enable View > Show hidden devices to see if the touchpad shows under Human Interface Devices or Mice and other pointing devices.
Download and reinstall the touchpad driver directly from your laptop manufacturer’s support page—Windows Update alone won’t always restore it.
If nothing appears, run a full hardware scan with Windows Hardware Diagnostics or the OEM tool, since it could be a hardware failure.
If the touchpad completely vanished from both Settings and Device Manager, and doesn’t reappear after a clean driver install, it may point to a physical connection issue (loose cable) or failed touchpad hardware.
