The order of folders in Quick Access in Windows 11 has been reset to the default sort order.
After installing a system update, the order of folders pinned to the Quick Access section in File Explorer is reset to the default sort order, and the previous custom sort order is lost. If you reorder the folders and then restart your computer, the order may be reset again.

The update appears to have preserved the pinned folders but stopped saving their order across sign-in, which points to File Explorer’s Quick access state rather than the folders themselves. First install any newer cumulative update and restart. Unpin the affected folders, restart Windows Explorer from Task Manager, then pin them again in the intended order. In File Explorer Options, clear File Explorer history and test after another restart; this resets recent-item data, so note anything important first. Avoid registry cleaners or deleting undocumented shell database files. If the order still resets, run DISM RestoreHealth followed by System File Checker from an elevated terminal, then test with a new user profile. A successful test there confirms profile-specific Explorer state. If both profiles reproduce it after current updates, submit the build number and steps through Feedback Hub because Windows does not expose a supported policy for forcing a custom Quick access order.
