"The Microsoft Passport Container service unexpectedly stopped after replacing secondary drive files
Recently, I encountered an issue where my old HDD failed, causing the save location for my documents folder to go missing. After replacing the HDD with a new one and restoring my backup, I noticed a significant increase in CPU usage, mainly attributed to the "Windows Error Reporting" service. Additionally, my computer now experiences a delay of 10-15 seconds at the login screen before allowing me to log in.
Upon investigating the Event Viewer, I discovered numerous errors stating that "The Microsoft Passport Container service terminated unexpectedly." While I cannot confirm a direct link between the HDD failure and these errors, the timing seems too coincidental to ignore. I am unsure of the steps to take to resolve this issue. Notably, the Windows Error Reporting service consistently utilizes about 5% of the CPU.
