The computer has disconnected from the connection
First check whether another phone or computer on the same network loses connection at the same time. If every device drops out, the cause is more likely the router, broadband line, or internet provider. If only this PC disconnects, focus on the Windows device.
For Wi-Fi, open Device Manager > Network adapters, right-click the wireless adapter, choose Properties > Power Management, and clear Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. Also disconnect any VPN, USB network adapter, or docking station temporarily, because these can interrupt the connection.
A simple test can show where the break occurs. Open Command Prompt and run:
ping -t 1.1.1.1
When the connection drops, note whether the replies stop. Then run the same test using the router’s local address, often shown as Default Gateway in ipconfig. If the router also stops replying, the problem is between the PC and the router. If the router continues replying but 1.1.1.1 fails, the problem is more likely the router’s internet connection or the provider.
If the PC is the only affected device, forget and reconnect to the Wi-Fi network, then install the network driver from the PC manufacturer’s support page rather than relying only on Windows Update. Use Settings > Network & internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset only as a later step, because it removes saved Wi-Fi networks, VPN adapters, and other network settings.
