Taskbar is stuck on the left side of my screen
It looks like your taskbar settings got scrambled when switching display orientations. A few things you can try:
Unlock and move the taskbar – Right-click the taskbar → make sure “Lock the taskbar” is unchecked → drag it back to the bottom of the screen.
Reset taskbar alignment – Right-click the taskbar → Taskbar settings → check “Taskbar behaviors” and set alignment to bottom/center.
Rebuild the icon cache – If your icons are still missing/overlapping, delete the icon cache so Windows regenerates it. You can do this by opening Command Prompt and running:
taskkill /IM explorer.exe /F
del /AH "%localappdata%\IconCache.db"
start explorer.exe
Check display settings – Sometimes Windows still thinks the second monitor is in portrait. Right-click desktop → Display settings → verify orientation and scaling for each screen.
If none of that works, creating a new user profile can confirm if it’s a corrupted profile issue.
