Hi Harrisarb
Your post is a confirmation that the installation is possible, but it is not possible to use such a slow computer!
Installing Windows11 in this case is a waste of time!
- JacquelineSomIron ContributorHDD definitely not a good choice for running Windows 11 as it needs a high hardware profile.
- KrisokalomoIron ContributorHow did you manage to do this? I have an old laptop and would like to install Windows 11 on it.

- TomasstesIron Contributor1.Optimize System Performance:
Disable Startup Programs: Navigate to Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) > Startup tab and disable any unnecessary programs that run on startup.
Uninstall Unused Software: Remove software that you do not use, which can free up resources.
Adjust Visual Effects: Search for "Performance" in the Start menu, select "Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows," and choose "Adjust for best performance" to disable animations and visual effects.
2. Manage Storage:
Storage Sense: Use Storage Sense to automatically free up space by removing temporary files. Go to Settings > System > Storage.
External Storage: Consider using external drives for storing large files instead of keeping them on the laptop’s internal drive. - YusufoenIron ContributorIt is definitely not a good choice to run Windows 11 on such an old hardware. Windows 11 requires 8th Gen Intel CPU and 8GB RAM.
- Nobel_BaynesSteel ContributorReplace with a new SSD. That could be much better for working with the old laptop.
- Keegan15Iron ContributorPress Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager, then click on the Startup tab. Disable any applications that you don't need to start with Windows.
