SSD to SSD cloning: it doesn't work but why?
I'm trying to upgrade from a 128 GB SSD (Crucial) to a 256 GB SSD (Transcend) on a NUC
But I spent my weekend there and it doesn't work.
I tried Minit0l partition wizard, Easue Us and Macrium Reflect
But I never succeeded.
And I tried again several times
In summary:
* cloning goes without problem, Macium or other tells me no error
* But when the cloned SSD (USB) is installed instead of the SSD, the PC does not boot!
At first, I came across a "minimal grub" page
So I thought this must be the residue of an attempt to install Ubuntu that was jamming the migration.
I so I deleted the "ubuntu" folder of the original SSD from the EFI partition
and I recloned
But as soon as I change SSDs the NUC restarts in a loop
And if I put back the original SSD it happens on Windows without any problem.
In short, I don't understand why the cloned disk doesn't want to boot
I must be missing something, but what?

After cloning, the BIOS/UEFI firmware might not recognize the cloned drive as a bootable device. Enter BIOS/UEFI settings and confirm:
- The cloned SSD is set as the first boot device.
- Secure Boot is disabled if necessary.
- The system is in UEFI mode (not Legacy/CSM).

This error most related to driver issue. The new SSD driver is not found in the source disk.

After cloning, check if the boot partition on the target SSD is an active primary partition, and manually select that disk to boot from using the BIOS boot menu.
