SSD to SSD cloning: it doesn't work but why?

After cloning, the BIOS/UEFI firmware might not recognize the cloned drive as a bootable device. Enter BIOS/UEFI settings and confirm:

  • The cloned SSD is set as the first boot device.
  • Secure Boot is disabled if necessary.
  • The system is in UEFI mode (not Legacy/CSM).
